Back in 2005, Steve Nicholls set out with a simple yet powerful idea, to create the world’s finest organic seaweed growth enhancer to replace the unsustainable and harmful chemical fertilizer alternatives that were damaging our beautiful planet. Steve was dedicated to offer gardeners, farmers, and plant lovers a natural solution that nourishes both plants and our planet.
Steve’s journey led him to the pristine waters off the West Coast of Ireland, where he discovered the incredible power of Ascophyllum Nodosum - (Don’t worry, it’s pronounced As-co-philly-um Nod-o-sum, Easy!). This nutrient-packed seaweed became the heart of our Organic Growth Enhancer and The Shropshire Seaweed Company was born.

Stuart leads the company with a passion for excellence and sustainability, ensuring we deliver the finest and innovative organic products.
When he's not in the office, Stuart enjoys life on his farm, where he can often be found tending to his chickens and lambs, embracing the rural lifestyle that inspires our mission.
David Ross
Our longest-serving team member, David plays pivotal role in optimising our supply chain, ensuring both ethically sustainable sourcing and the highest standards of organic certification.
Outside of work, he loves exploring the countryside and uncovering hidden gems. On weekends, you’ll often find him enjoying a game of cricket on village grounds across our beautiful country.
Stewart Black
Stewart drives our product innovation and leads our marketing strategy, ensuring we remain at the forefront for organic and sustainable products.
Outside the office, Stewart enjoys spending his free time trying to perfect his golf game and discovering some of the UK’s finest hidden golf courses.
